Dotchke Issue 4

These are the earliest drawings on the 60Grid applet I made for just this purpose. The drawings are somewhat tentative, but it was nice to return to a regular creative practice.

Stumbling across some 1bit drawings on an old hard dive, I was inspired to release them in zine format (issues 1-3) and continue the practice by creating my own software to draw with. Using Javascript and HTML I can scratch some pixels onto my phone with my finger or a stylus and keep track of passing ideas or literal objects that come my way. The easiest way for me access it from my phone or laptop was to host it live on the internet. You can see it too if you like, it's up at 60grid.com.

I do some cleanup, framing and add a maker's mark in GIMP which is free open-source image editing software before considering an image 'done'.
